A monthly Sunday-evening gathering for African and African-diaspora women in the long middle of a faith transition. Not a debate. A 60-minute structured conversation, broken into pairs and small groups, on a single question each month.

The gathering structure is a 90-minute event with three segments. The first 15 minutes is open arrival and a brief framing of the evening's question by the rotating facilitator. The next 45 minutes is structured conversation: 15 minutes in pairs, 20 minutes in small groups of four to five, and 10 minutes in whole-group sharing of themes that emerged in the small groups. The final 30 minutes is open conversation and a closing reflection on the evening's question.

Each month has a different question. The questions are surfaced from the Agnostic and Seeking network discussions across the preceding weeks. Recent questions have included: 'What do you still keep from the tradition you were raised in?' 'What does ritual look like in your life now?' 'How are you talking to your children about your own spiritual transition?' 'What practices are you building that are not from a single tradition?'

The gathering is facilitated by a rotating team of members from across the Faith Practice and Reflection network and the Agnostic and Seeking network. The facilitator team is multi-faith and multi-starting-point by design; the gathering does not represent a single tradition or a specific position. The structured conversation format is designed to hold the multiplicity of the cohort with care.

Who this is for: African and African-diaspora women in the long middle of a faith transition. Women raised deep in the Black church who no longer attend regularly. Women raised Muslim who have stepped back from formal practice. Women raised in West African traditional religion who are not actively practicing. Women in interfaith households who have arrived at a settled agnosticism. Women who are actively seeking and have not yet found their place. Members of the Agnostic and Seeking network and the Faith Practice and Reflection network are particularly welcome.

What attendees will leave with: a structured conversation space for the questions they are sitting with. Specific connections with pair and small-group partners that may continue across the year following. Continuing access to the network threads where the monthly question continues to be discussed.

Logistics: virtual via the platform's event infrastructure on a recurring monthly schedule. 90-minute duration. Capacity 80 per gathering; registered count tracked at the platform-event-detail level. Recording not available — the gathering is held confidentially and recordings are not produced.

Pre-event prep: registered attendees receive the month's question one week prior with brief framing context. Attendees are invited to bring their own reflection on the question to the gathering; pre-event written reflection is encouraged but not required.

Post-event continuation: a follow-up thread within the Agnostic and Seeking network extends the month's question across the weeks following the gathering. The thread becomes a sustained reflection space for members who wish to continue the conversation between monthly gatherings.

Cost: free of ticket cost in keeping with the platform's broader reflection-and-care programming policy. The platform's event infrastructure supports the coordination and facilitator hosting; the structure is community-coordinated.

This gathering has run continuously across the platform's events program with consistent monthly attendance. Attendees from prior months have reported specific outcomes that justify the format: durable conversations with pair and small-group partners across the year, continued engagement with the network thread, and a sustained reflection-and-community space for the long middle of a faith transition that is otherwise rarely structurally supported. The gathering structure is replicable and the broader platform infrastructure supports the monthly cadence indefinitely.

The gathering is one of the platform's longer-running monthly reflection programs. Parallel gatherings exist for members of the Faith Practice and Reflection network who are still actively engaged with specific traditions and want a different conversation register. The Agnostic and Seeking network supports the broader reflection work that this gathering participates in.

The faith-transition conversation has historically been carried in isolation by members of African and African-diaspora communities where the cultural weight of religious tradition makes the conversation difficult to have openly. The monthly gathering creates the structured space for the conversation that the broader community context has not produced and that members have surfaced as specifically needed.

Registration opens two weeks before each monthly gathering via the platform's event-registration system and typically reaches capacity within one week of registration opening. Late additions are accommodated to the extent platform capacity permits.

Accessibility provisions include live captioning of the framing segment, scheduled-pause-points in the structured conversation, accommodations for attendees with varying language fluencies, and ASL interpretation available on request submitted at least two weeks before the gathering. The confidential orientation of the gathering means that recordings are not produced; attendees with accessibility needs that depend on post-event recording engagement are invited to discuss alternative arrangements with the platform.

The gathering format has evolved across multiple iterations. The early iterations were unstructured open conversation; attendee feedback consistently surfaced the need for structured discussion to support the depth of the conversation members wanted to have, leading to the current pair-and-small-group structure.

The gathering is one component of the platform's broader Agnostic and Seeking network and Faith Practice and Reflection network infrastructure. Adjacent programming includes the network threads, the quarterly virtual circles, and the regional in-person gatherings in major diaspora cities.

The gathering has produced a sustained community of monthly attendees across multiple years. Many attendees return month after month and report that the gathering has become an anchor in their broader spiritual-reflection practice. The monthly question format keeps the conversation fresh while the structural format provides the continuity that the cohort benefits from.

The gathering has produced durable spiritual-reflection community across the years it has run. Many attendees report that the monthly cadence has provided a kind of spiritual-community continuity that the broader cultural context of their lives has not produced and that has been specifically supportive across their broader life arcs.

The platform's event registration confirmation includes a calendar invitation, the platform's video-conferencing access details, and the month's specific reflection question with brief framing context. The platform's broader confidentiality framework applies to all discussion within the gathering. Specific spiritual-transition details, family-of-origin specifics, and personal-faith-practice content shared in the gathering do not leave the room. The confidentiality applies strictly given the sensitive personal-content nature of the conversations.
