A three-night retreat held outside Atlanta, Georgia. For African and African-diaspora women already in therapy or active grief work who would benefit from a structured residential container. Facilitated by two licensed clinical psychologists with trauma-informed training and a senior somatic-practice facilitator.

The retreat structure spans three full days and three nights. Each day follows a consistent rhythm: morning movement (light yoga, walking, or stretching), mid-morning circle (90-minute facilitated group discussion on a specific theme), structured afternoon rest (with optional individual sessions available with the clinical facilitators), evening fire (informal gathering around fire pit with reading, conversation, or silent reflection depending on the evening). Meals are communal and the menu is calibrated to support the retreat's broader healing-and-rest orientation.

The clinical structure is rigorous. The two licensed clinical psychologists facilitate the morning circles and are available for one-on-one sessions during afternoon rest periods for attendees who need extended individual clinical engagement during the retreat. The somatic-practice facilitator leads the morning movement and is available for individual somatic sessions during afternoon rest. The retreat is not therapy and does not substitute for the attendee's ongoing clinical care; the retreat is a complementary container that supports the ongoing clinical work the attendee is doing.

Who this is for: African and African-diaspora women already in therapy or active grief work. Women navigating intergenerational trauma, recent grief, post-traumatic stress, burnout, or adjacent conditions that benefit from a structured residential container. Members of the platform's Mental Health and Therapy network and the Intergenerational Trauma Work network are particularly welcome. The retreat is not designed for women in acute crisis who need immediate clinical stabilization; the pre-retreat intake process screens for fit.

What attendees will leave with: a three-night structured container that has held the work they brought to the retreat. Specific connections with the cohort of approximately twenty-four other women who attended the retreat together. Continuing access to the post-retreat thread within the Mental Health and Therapy network for members of the cohort. The clinical facilitators are available for individual mentor sessions through their platform profiles for attendees who want extended follow-up engagement.

Logistics: in-person at a retreat center near Stone Mountain, GA. Three nights residential. Capacity 24 reflecting the depth of the residential structure; registered count tracked at the platform-event-detail level.

Pre-retreat prep: a pre-retreat intake call with one of the clinical facilitators is required before registration is confirmed. The intake assesses fit and ensures the retreat is appropriate for the attendee's current clinical situation. The intake also walks through the retreat expectations and the specific cohort-engagement requirements.

Post-retreat continuation: a post-retreat thread within the Mental Health and Therapy network runs for six months following the retreat. The thread becomes a durable peer-support structure that many cohorts continue across years.

Cost: sliding-scale tuition with attention to the specific financial conditions of women doing the active clinical work that the retreat supports. The tuition covers the residential accommodations, meals, facilitator engagement, and the broader retreat-center costs. Partial scholarships are available; the request is at the bottom of the registration form. Full scholarships are available for a limited number of attendees each retreat cycle through the platform's broader healing-support fund.

This retreat has run for the past five years with a strict twenty-four-participant cap and a rigorous pre-retreat intake process. Attendees from prior cohorts have reported specific outcomes that justify the format: durable connections with cohort partners across years, specific clinical-work breakthroughs that the retreat container supported, and ongoing engagement with the Mental Health and Therapy network across the long arc of their clinical work. The retreat structure is rigorously held and the cohort continuity is one of the deeper community-building investments the platform has made.

The retreat is one component of the platform's broader healing-and-care infrastructure. Other retreat formats in the program include shorter virtual retreats for members who cannot travel, smaller in-person retreats with more specific clinical focus, and the annual longer retreat for members in extended grief work. The retreat calendar is published one year in advance to support members planning around their clinical work.

The residential retreat format provides the structured container for active clinical work that individual therapy alone does not provide. The retreat is not a substitute for ongoing clinical care; it is a complementary container that supports the deeper work the attendee is doing across the rest of the year with her own clinical team.

Registration for the retreat opens twelve weeks before the retreat date to support the pre-retreat intake process and typically reaches capacity within six weeks. Cancellation up to four weeks before the retreat refunds the tuition minus the platform's standard processing-fee deduction; cancellation within four weeks of the retreat transfers the registration to a subsequent retreat cycle.

Accessibility provisions at the retreat center include wheelchair-accessible accommodations, accessible common spaces, accommodations for attendees with specific medication or dietary needs, and accommodations for attendees with sensory-processing needs through specific room assignments and quiet-space designation. The pre-retreat intake conversation covers all accessibility needs in detail and ensures the retreat-center configuration accommodates each attendee.

The retreat format has evolved across five years of iterations. The early iterations were shorter (two-night) retreats; attendee feedback consistently surfaced the value of three nights for the depth of the clinical container, leading to the current three-night structure. The clinical facilitator team has expanded from one to three across the retreats to support the depth of individual engagement.

The retreat is one component of the platform's broader healing-and-care infrastructure. Adjacent programming includes the monthly Mental Health and Therapy network gatherings, the quarterly virtual sessions with guest clinicians, the smaller virtual retreats for members who cannot travel, and the annual longer retreat for members in extended grief work.

The retreat alumna network has produced durable peer-support relationships across years. Many attendees return to the retreat in subsequent years for renewed engagement with the residential container; others remain in engagement with cohort partners from their original retreat across years of correspondence and occasional in-person meetings. The retreat-alumna infrastructure is one of the platform's deeper community-investment programs.

The platform's retreat registration confirmation, sent only after the pre-retreat intake call has been completed and the registration has been confirmed, includes the retreat-center address and travel-logistics details, the retreat-day-by-day schedule, the packing list, the dietary and accommodation specifics, and the post-retreat-thread access details. The platform's broader confidentiality framework applies strictly to all retreat content. The retreat is a confidential clinical-supportive container; specific personal-content shared during the retreat does not leave the retreat under any circumstances.
